ANOTHER SPECIAL NOTE: We managed to wrap it up on Saturday - early Sunday morning - we did not have to return on Sunday at 4pm.

There are so many paranormal reality shows on TV now. Every time I flip the channel, I come across a new one. It’s incredible on how many people are fascinated with the paranormal and with 3 million paranormal groups around the world, every paranormal group wants a piece of the paranormal reality TV pie. Let’s take a look at some of the paranormal shows that have caught my attention or perhaps HPI has been involved with.

Deep South Paranormal: New show by the SyFy Channel. This show has a great concept, taking hillbillies to haunted locations and watching them freak out over everything that goes bump in the night. The characters are fun to watch with their Southern drawls and good ol’ boy Southern sayings. What is a real eye catcher is watching one of the investigators using a bell that he has attached to a gris-gris stick and he's always saying "Come to the bell.

Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal. True stories of the O.S.I.R. - Office of Scientific Investigation and Research - hosted by Dan Ankroyd. These scientists started with environmental research and some how found themselves investigating caves in which when you enter and then when you exit, you age dramatically. They investigate demon cases, UFO cases and it is said that the OSIR is government sponsored. One of the operatives of OSIR is the legendary Christopher Chacon, read his bio here:

A Haunting – Destination America. Great show, great re-enactments. I have been contacted by various producers of the show and it now looks like they are interested in our Pioneer case.

UFO Hunters – I am good friends with William J. Birnes and his wife. I have been published many times in Bill Birne’s UFO magazine. Bill is one of the leading UFOlogists in the world and I respect his method of investigating.

Ancient Aliens – One of the first books I ever read, along with Brad Steiger books is Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Danikan. Erich and Giorgio A. Tsoukalos are my Facebook friends. George Noory makes appearances on this show and some of my articles and my interviews have been featured on Coast to Coast AM, so I feel a connection to this show. I am a firm believer that we have been visited by extraterrestrials in our distant past and I feel that these extraterrestrials kick started mankind.

America’s Haunted Hotels once featured psychic Nancy Bradley and I was once employed as a writer for Nancy Bradley’s paranormal group.

Celebrity Ghost Stories – great re-enactments and sometimes this show catches my attention.

Destination Truth – how many of us are jealous of Josh Gates as he globe trots around the world looking for cryptids and dislocated spirits. Great adventure show that keeps me on my toes.

Extreme Paranormal – Come on, really? Really? These guys do some absurd things for ratings and at times it’s hard to watch.

Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files – I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Murphy and his lovely wife at a Sacramento UFO Convention. I admire the team on the way they seek out to debunk some of these extreme paranormal claims.

Ghost Adventures by the Travel Channel – I have been contacted 2 times by the Ghost Adventures writer and producer Jeff Belanger. They wanted me to get them into the Martinez House in Sacramento and they wanted to interview two of my experiencers of the National Hotel. They wanted me and the experiencers to meet the Ghost Adventurers team at the National Hotel and when we arrived, we learn that Ghost Adventurers are at the wrong National Hotel. While we were at the National Hotel in Jackson, they were at the National Hotel in Nevada City. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be.

Paranormal Cops by A&E – Who doesn’t like cops that investigate ghosts on their off duty time? Why did they take this show off?

Ghost Hunters by the SyFy Channel – Two of my articles have been published in TAPS magazine. These guys started a slew of paranormal investigating shows and they are still popular on TV.

Ghost Hunters Academy – This one didn’t last long. Hmmm..I wonder why?

Ghost Hunters International – Like Josh Gates and Destination Truth better. But, I do love the foreign locales, since I am a globe trotting adventurer myself! I had the honor of meeting Paul Bradford of Ghost Hunters International at the Sacramento UFO Convention.

Ghost Lab – Brad Klinge contributed to one of my articles. Great guy. I enjoyed their unusual methods of investigating.

Haunted History – I love history and I love ghost history even more!

My Ghost Story by the Biography Channel – HPI has appeared in 6 episodes of My Ghost Story. Some of the HPI investigators that have appeared on My Ghost Story are: Paul Dale Roberts – in 3 episodes – Jon Koyasako, Shari Aresta, Becky Cardenas, Alaceo ‘Big Al’ Rosatano, Shannon McCabe, Chantal Apodaca, Belinda Bentley, Jennifer Newell, Kara Koyasako, Sally Garza, Sally Howard, Judy Raderchak, Deanna Bailey and family member Carolann Castro of Soulseekers.

Mystery Quest- Who doesn’t like a mystery?

Paranormal State – Ryan and his Penn State buddies hunt for the paranormal and will that demon ever stop following Ryan?

Psychic Kids – Children of the Paranormal – a TV producer asked me to be a technical consultant for the show and then I heard nothing more about it. Sigh.

Scariest Places On Earth – Scariest? I can think of other places that are even scarier. Wasn’t too impressed with this show.

The Haunted – Animal Planet: The TV producers of this show had me running around like a chicken without a head to give them a good animal spirit story. After submitting several stories to the producers, they never picked up on any of them. What peeves me off is they contacted me first. One of the big hassles of this show is that they wanted me to change the stories to their liking and I refused to do this.

The Othersiders by Cartoon Network: Actually met the TV producer of this show at the Coffee Garden. All he wanted was ideas from me for good locations to film at. The chump didn’t even buy me a cup of coffee. Felt so used.

One Step Beyond – When I was a little boy, I was hooked on this show. One of the shows that actually propelled me into the paranormal.

The Dead Files – I love the psychic on this show, she is soooooo animated!!

Haunted Collector – Hey, come back with my Coby 45” LED High Definition TV! It ain’t haunted! The TV producer contacted me about the Jinnae Johnson case and they never followed through. The reason: They didn’t want to fly up to Northern California and wanted to take a case in Southern California. Well, that was the excuse by the receptionist as she related the story to Jinnae.

Patrick Macnee’s Ghost Stories – Great accent Patrick and you tell a heckuv a good ghost story, you kept my attention!

In Search of (with Leonard Nimoy) – Who doesn’t want to search for something paranormal with Spock?

Stranded by the SyFy Channel – HPI just did filming for a TV pilot called ‘Paranormal Skeptics’ for A&E. Stranded and Paranormal Skeptics are almost the same storyline premise.

Alien Encounters by the Biography Channel. Biography Channel does it again and one of my favorite episodes was with Whitley Streiber!

History Channel’s Monster Quest – Telly ‘Leatherface’ Blackwood and Mark Greer – my two witnesses to Mothman/Batsquatch appeared on this show and my name was in the credits.

Penn & Teller’s Bullsxxt – The Apocalypse Episode – they flew me and Shan to Chichen Itza to find out if the Mayan Prophesy of 2012 was true. Of course, we found out it was bullsxxt! Penn ripped me a new one, but apologized at the end of the show, it was all in good fun!

Mysteries of Angels and Demons – Ives Street Entertainment – documentary found on Netflix – I am the featured Demonologist!

Conversations with a Serial Killer – Two Four Productions in England – The TV producers read my article on Richard Trenton 'The Vampire of Sacramento' Chase and contacted me. They filmed me and Shan at the Preston Castle - yes, HPI was the first paranormal team in Preston Castle and they filmed us in Old Sacramento.

Michael Jackson: The Search for his Spirit by Sky1 TV in England. Shan and I are part of Michael Jackson's posthumous history as we searched for his ghost at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. We obtained an EVP of a little boy saying 'Michael'. The host of this show was June Sarpong. June is a very fascinating woman and I am glad I had the pleasure of meeting her.

Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura and June Sarpong. Watch Jesse tackle everything from Area 51 to the Kennedy Assassination. Spectacular show!

Ghostly Encounters by the Biography Channel - I have been contacted by a TV producer for this show and they never followed up on the HPI case that they were interested in. Great show, love the re-enactments!

April 21, 2013, Sunday – Crazy day today. Chris Singleton after the TV pilot – crashed out on my couch and left at 1pm – after we did some brainstorming on creating our own TV pilot called Abnormal Paranormal. Telly ‘Leatherface’ Blackwood briefly stops by, later Chantal Apodaca comes over and finally Cassandra Asevedo and her sister come over to use my computer to do their sociology project. I had to break away from the visits to interview Amanda ‘Hernandez’ Paige at Starbucks at 15th and Broadway – Sacramento. She tells me how she met a man that was very much into UFOs and this man kept telling her that she needed to go to Mount Shasta, that the aliens wanted to conduct some experiments on her. Her new friend told her the aliens eventual goal was to clone her. Amanda became obsessed with UFOs and decided to head over to Mount Shasta and camp out. Everything started falling in place, she got a new credit card in the mail, that she was able to use for this trip. Her supervisor approved her vacation without any hassle. Amanda then started randomly meeting people that lived at Mount Shasta. Amanda thought this was very odd. Then another friend approached her and could tell that something was troubling her, when he found out she was going to Mount Shasta, he gave her a dire warning not to go, that something very bad would happen to her. Amanda starts having a multitude of dreams about UFOs, then she had a nerve wracking dream of being abducted. Amanda still went to Mount Shasta with a friend and when she arrived she saw a multi-colored globe shaped UFO. This all happened in 1978 and she vividly remembers all of the details of those dreams and the UFO she saw at Mount Shasta. To this day, she wonders about this strange incident that transpired in her life.
