I get some creepy calls that come in on the paranormal hotline. This one I thought I would publish, because of the creepiness of the story. Also, I am curious if anyone else has heard a similar story. The person that called wants to remain completely anonymous. I will grant them that anonymity. The caller says that for years they were haunted by a strange entity, that they call “Rot”. The caller’s mother who I will call Hilda called the entity Zerfallen Geist. Zerfallen Geist basically means the decaying ghost. The family is of German descent. The caller says that her mother while living in Ansbach, Germany as a child was visited by the Zerfallen Geist. She saw ribbons of light in her bedroom. The ribbons of light was darting around here and there and it frightened her. She hid underneath her blankets. Finally she gained the courage to look around her room from underneath her blanket and saw a translucent entity looking down upon her with an odd look on its face. The entity opened his hand and she could see that he was holding some nasty rotten teeth. The entity touched her and she was frozen in fear and was unable to scream. The entity did a snarling type of laugh and then vanished. Hilda passed out and the next morning when she awoke she had a severe toothache. When her parents took her to the dentist, she discovered she had 3 major cavities. The dentist had to extract one of her teeth that was loose and the dentist informed her that she had gum disease. Hilda to this day, believes that it was the entity that gave her this disease.

The caller now says that Rot aka the Zerfallen Geist was haunting her family. The caller says that she saw ribbons of light floating about in her room and that the entity was hovering over her bed with a strange grin. The entity touched her husband and in just a few months’ time, her husband had his top layer teeth pulled out and now had full on dentures on the top half of his mouth. Their dog had also gained gum disease and the veterinarian had to take out 14 of the dog’s teeth. After this happened, the entity appeared in the bedroom again, carrying two handfuls of teeth and maniacally laughing, before vanishing. The caller says that before the entity made his appearance, she could smell the odor of decay. The caller believes that this entity collects rotten teeth and is some kind of demon. The caller described the entity and my wife Deanna Jaxine Stinson is providing the drawing for this article. From what this caller tells me, it sounds like they are being tormented by a demonic tooth fairy.

The caller informed me that her pastor has baptized all members of her family and cleansed her home. The reason why she was calling me is in case the demon were to show back up and how can she bless her own home. I gave her the instructions on how to bless her own home. Right now, they are not having any more issues with Rot.

The caller asked me if I thought it could be a tooth fairy. My answer is no and from everything she tells me, it seems to be some kind of demon. Below is what Wikipedia describes as a Tooth Fairy.

According to Wikipedia: "In northern Europe, there was a tradition of tand-fé or tooth fee, which was paid when a child lost its first tooth. This tradition is recorded in writings as early as the Eddas, which are the earliest written record of Norse and Northern European traditions.

The reward left varies by country, the family's economic status, amounts the child's peers report receiving and other factors.

During the Middle Ages, other superstitions arose surrounding children's teeth. In England, for example, children were instructed to burn their baby teeth in order to save the child from hardship in the afterlife. Children who didn't consign their baby teeth to the fire would spend eternity searching for them in the afterlife. The Vikings, it is said, paid children for their teeth. In the Norse culture, children's teeth and other articles belonging to children were said to bring good luck in battle, and Scandinavian warriors hung children's teeth on a string around their necks. Fear of witches was another reason to bury or burn teeth. In medieval Europe, it was thought that if a witch were to get hold of one's teeth, it could lead to them having total power over him or her."

So, as you can see if you compare the tooth fairy myth to the demon Rot as the caller described, they differ considerably in comparison.
